SHS FCCLA Chapter Members Place at National Competition

Five Scottsbluff High School FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) attended the Hybrid National FCCLA Conference in Nashville, TN June 27-July 2, 2021.

The students’ involvement in competitive events happened virtually with the recognition of their success happening in person.

While in Nashville the students attended workshops focused on student leadership and FCCLA. They also attended an inclusion, access, equity, and diversity panel led by former Survivor: One World contestant, Sabrina Thompson Mitchell, and accompanied by seven high-level business and industry leader panelists, and visited several cultural and historical venues in the Nashville area. 

Students Jaqueline Lara Patino and Lluvia Montelongo, placed 2nd in the Nation with their Sustainability Challenge project receiving a 95/100 score. In addition to their second-place score, Lluvia and Jaqueline each received a $35,000 Scholarship to Sullivan University.  Placing 15th in the Nation with their Public Advocacy project and a score of 86/100 was Jennifer Torres, Krisstana Jessica Perez, Julia Cisneros.
