CHADRON- In Chadron last night the Scottsbluff Bearcats avenged a loss to the Cardinals in the season opener by sweeping Chadron, 3-0.
The Bearcats won the sets by the scores of 25-22, 25-14 and 25-15 as senior Emma Hergenrader ended her night leading Scottsbluff with 15 kills and five service aces. Ava Reed and Margo Bowles were also in the mix with six kills each on the night, with Bowles adding two more aces to the Bearcat team total of 11 and set up her hitters alongside Kinzley Hess as each finished with 11 assists on the night.
The Bearcats improved their record to 8-9 on the season and are at Sidney on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Chadron is now 8-11 and host Gordon-Rushville on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
