Scottsbluff Police say a 20-year-old local man was taken into custody Thursday night following a rollover crash.

Officials say at about 10:40 pm, officers were dispatched to the area of Avenue B and Rugger Drive in response to a rollover MVA.

In a news release, they say the investigation determined a maroon colored Ford F-150 driven by Tucker Straub of Scottsbluff had been traveling north on Avenue B at a high rate of speed, failed to slow down enough to turn onto Rugger Drive and collided with the Regional West Medical Center sign at that location.

The collision caused damage to the sign and landscaping, as well as making the pickup to come to rest on its passenger’s side.

A DUI investigation was conducted and Straub was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence, minor in possession of alcohol, and reckless driving, and taken to the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center.

Also assisting with the investigation were the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office, Scottsbluff Fire Department, and Valley Ambulance.
