Over $1.6 Million Raised for Cancer Research During 2024 Nebraska Cattlemen’s Ball

A check representing 90 percent of the proceeds from the 2024 Nebraska Cattlemen’s Ball was presented Thursday to the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in the amount of $1,685,176.87 in a ceremony at Gering’s Weborg 21 Centre.

“We are thrilled to share the incredible success of the 2024 Cattlemen’s Ball,” said Scott Schiff, 2024 host of the Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska, Inc. “The funds raised will make a significant difference in the fight against cancer and in supporting health and wellness initiatives in our local communities.”

The event was hosted by the Scott and Kristin Schiff family at their venue north of Minatare.

The other ten percent of the proceeds, which came to $187,242, were granted to local recipients of 19 grants in 8 communities for health and wellness programs.

Local Recipients included:

Bobcats Beating Cancer, – $3,000

Box Butte General Hospital – $17,500

Festival of Hope – $20,000

Latina Red Dress Organization – $3,000

The Paradigm Concepts – $2,700

Minatare Fire Department – $21,242

Morrill County Hospital – $18,000

Panhandle Gymnastics – $12,000

Panhandle Public Health District – $12,500

Regional West Hospital – $25,000

Scottsbluff FFA – $2,300

Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office – $5,000

Scottsbluff Country Club – $5,000

Sidney Regional Medical Center – $15,000

As the Cattlemen’s Ball looks forward to the 2025 event, the organization remains committed to supporting cancer research and enhancing local health and wellness programs. Next year’s event will take place in Blue Springs, Nebraska, on June 6 and 7, 2025.
