The Better Business Bureau (BBB) of the Midwest Plains has issued a warning about a fraudulent website impersonating a legitimate miniature cattle farm in Broken Bow, Nebraska.

After investigating more than 50 complaints, the BBB revealed that the site for “Miniature Highland Cattle Farm” claims to operate from 1852 N 9th Ave in Broken Bow. However, verification with the Broken Bow Police Department confirmed that no such business exists at this address, and the true location of the operation remains unknown.

The fraudulent website features stolen content from authentic sources, including Rolling 7 Mini Highlands, another local miniature Highland cattle business. Kate Zutavern, owner of Rolling 7 Mini Highlands, has received numerous calls from consumers mistakenly believing her business is connected to the scam.

Since the first report on December 18, 2023, the BBB has documented four Scam Tracker reports from customers who paid for cattle but never received them, with one individual losing $2,200. Payments were typically requested via Zelle or CashApp, and customers who raised concerns reported receiving threats.

The BBB advises consumers to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of online businesses before making any payments.
