Police in Cheyenne are investigating a series of ‘shots fired’ reports involving vehicles moving on city streets Wednesday.

According to a Cheyenne Police news release, officers were dispatched to an initial report of gunfire in the southwest area of Cheyenne around 3:15 p.m.

Investigators say it was alleged occupants of at least two passenger vehicles were traveling through areas including Fox Farm Road, Walterscheid Boulevard, and West College Drive while exchanging gunfire.

Responding officers were able to safely de-escalate the situation and contact several people of interest, and no injuries or arrests were reported.

The case remains under investigation, and anyone with information on the incident was asked to contact investigators or use a tip line to remain anonymous.
