It’s an exciting weekend planned at the Midwest Theater in Scottsbluff, as they are showing a summer blockbuster movie on its opening weekend.

‘Twisters’, a stand alone sequel to the 1996 smash film ‘Twister’ will be hitting the big screen in downtown Scottsbluff for the next two weeks.

Midwest Theater Director Tina Worthman says she’s super excited to be showing the new film on its opening weekend.

“Being that tornadoes and tornado chasing are so popular in our community, and I think it’s going to be- in my opinion- the movie of the summer,” she told KNEB News. So we decided to do it for two full weekends during the opening weekend of this Friday night at the Midwest. We’re going to have some local storm chasers there with their crazy vehicles that have gotten beat up by tornadoes and all the other stuff.”

Friday and Saturday’s showtimes will be 1:30 and 7 p.m. and Sunday will just be the 1:30 p.m. matinee.
