I-80 Traffic Stop Nets Large Ecstasy Pill Seizure for NSP

Two people from Washington State are behind bars in Cheyenne County after being stopped for speeding by a Nebraska State Trooper.

According to the NSP, the trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from the Volkswagen Jetta was stopped on Interstate 80 near Sunol.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a small amount of marijuana, more than 500 pills of ecstasy and several small containers which contained methamphetamine, codeine, THC, and pharmaceutical controlled substances.

The driver, 23-year-old Maya Givens of Puyallup, Washington, and a 17-year-old passenger were both taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver and lodged in Cheyenne County Jail.
