Both Scottsbluff and Gering played doubleheaders on Tuesday with the Bearcats falling twice at home to Class A North Platte while Gering got their expected blowout wins at Chase County.

At Scottsbluff it was the Tatum Montelongo show for North Platte. In game one she tossed a 4 inning no-hitter with 7 strikeouts and no walks and at the plate she blasted a pair of three run homers while scoring three runs in the 11-0 win. Montelongo came back and got the win in game two, the final in that one was 9-1 in six innings. Scottsbluff mustered up a little better effort at the plate in that one with four hits; two from Brady Laucomer and she drove in the only run for Scottsbluff. Scottsbluff dropped to 16-4 on the season.

Gering went to Imperial and drubbed Chase County 21-1 and 17-2, playing a total of six innings on the night. Jessica Brown, Jada Schlothauer, and Liz Wiese all connected on homers in the first game for the Bulldogs and the winning pitchers were Allee Lohr and Aspen Elsen. Gering’s now 17-3 this season.

Coming up on Thursday night it’s Gering hosting Scottsbluff and we’ll have coverage on KNEB.tv, 106.9 The Trail, and KHYYfm.com starting at approximately 6:45 with first pitch scheduled for 7 pm.

Also on Tuesday in softball Chadaron beat Alliance 17-13.
