High School Football State Championship rundown from Monday

There were three football state title games played at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on Monday with three more on tap for Tuesday to close out the year.

How about Sandhills/Thedford and Kyle Cox! The Knights ran their way to a 50-12 championship game win over Wynot with their junior quarterback leading the way. Cox ran the ball an all-class, all-time record 65 times for 486 yards and six touchdowns.

In Class B last night the Bennington Badgers won their third straight state title with a 21-0 win over Skutt Catholic. It was Bennington’s 39th straight win overall.

And in D-1 yesterday morning it was Stanton downing EMF 46-32.

  • A- Omaha Westside vs. Elkhorn South, 6:15 pm MT
