Goshen Economic Development celebrated community award winners on Nov. 17 and recognized citizens and businesses during its annual meeting.

The award winners were nominated by the public and voted on by the public.

“We just put out a nomination sheet early in the fall, and the general public nominates those they think are worthy,” said Brayden Connour, CEO of Goshen Economic Development.

Once the GED tallied the votes, winners were named in nine categories.

Taking home the “Big Land, Limitless Pioneering – Business of the Year Award” was 21st Century Equipment of Torrington, Wyo.

“In Goshen County, our largest industry is agriculture, and so it’s important for us to highlight our ag businesses. This year our winner was 21st Century Equipment. The public felt they were doing a good job and appreciated what they brought to the community,” he said.

Producers noted 21st Century Equipment was dedicated to making a sustainable life in agriculture.

“We at 21st Century Equipment are always trying to do the right thing. We stayed open during Covid to service our customers and are always supporting the community, whether it be at the fair or other local events,” said David December, vice president of marketing at 21st Century Equipment. “We’re thrilled and honored to win the award.”

December added the majority of their employees at the 21st Century Torrington location live in the community.

“The awards are kind of a ‘thank you’ in my mind from the public. I think anyone who was nominated should feel good about that because obviously, they are doing something good people are recognizing them for,” Connour said.
