Gering Man Facing Heroin and Meth Charges No-Shows for Bench Trial

A 24-year-old Gering man who was the target of a November WING Drug Task Force is a wanted man- after failing to show up for his trial Thursday in Scotts Bluff County District Court.

Jacob Johnson is facing felony charges of: Possession of Heroin With Intent to Distribute (Within 1,000 feet of school/ playground), Possession of Methamphetamine, and Tampering With a Witness.

Court records show that Johnson attempted to wire money to a woman who was going to help him acquire 22 grams of heroin and 7 grams of methamphetamine. A search of his home resulted in the seizure of 10.5 grams of heroin as well a money transfer receipt with the women as the recipient.

Johnson was supposed to show up for his trial on Thursday morning, no-showed, and now a bench warrant for his arrest has been issued.
