The Gering girls tennis team finished 9th in a competitive 12 team field on Thursday on the road at the Kearney Invitational.
Kristen Whaley was the headliner for Gering, coming off a two week injury layoff she finished third at No. 1 singles. Alexis Thompson filled in for Paige Schneider at No. 2 singles and went 1-4.
The No. 1 doubles team of Aspyn Johnson and Camille Newman also had a 1-4 day while the No. 2 doubles team of Kayle Morris and Maia Swan finished with a 2-3 record.
Alliance finished 12th on Thursday.
Gering, along with Scottsbluff, set to play on Saturday at the GNAC meet in McCook.
