The 37th edition of the West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball match was played on Saturday at Scottsbluff High School with the East rolling over the West 25-20, 25-14, 25-17, 19-25, and 13-15. The format includes playing all five sets and it was the East winning the match by sweeping the first three sets.

The East MVP was UNK basketball recruit Sam Moore from Mullen. Moore finished with, unofficially, 16 kills on the match.

Other East standouts included Halle Jacobsen (Broken Bow), Ashley Brown (Elm Creek), and Jaycee Widener (Maywood).

MVP honors for the West team went to Ogallala’s Jenna Curtis, who’s set to play volleyball at Western Nebraska Community College starting in the fall. Curtis finished (unofficially) tied for team high in kills with 9 but also just showed tremendous hustle and effort throughout the match.

Sidney’s Karly Sylvester also had 9 kills for the West. Jayla Brehmer (Gordon-Rushville) also stood out with her athletic ability, and she’ll also be playing at WNCC this next season.
