Two local organizations received grants on Thursday from Great Western Bank in Scottsbluff through their “Making Life Great” program.

11 13 Ministries was granted $5,000 to be used to purchase food, upgrade their food delivery process, and purchase new kitchen equipment for the “By God’s Grace Mobile Meals” program. Director Larry Massie accepted the check on behalf of the ministry, who said the grant will allow 11 13 Ministries to expand and more effectively provide much-needed free meals to the homebound, elderly, and food insecure in the area communities we serve.

In addition, the Scotts Bluff County Volunteer Center received an $850 grant to assist with their “Snow Angels” program. Executive Director Shanna Halstead and Board President Kendra Feather accepted the check on behalf of the oranization. Halstead said the generous grant will go far in providing Snow Angels food bags. Snow Angels provides an emergency food source for our Meals-on-Wheels and Home Delivered Commodities folks in case we are unable to deliver during the winter months due to inclement weather.

For over 80 years, Great Western Bank, through its “Making Life Great” program, has invested in communities in the nine states where it lives through sponsorships, donations, and employee volunteerism.
