William Houston, Jr. was born on July 13, 1926 to William and Zella Houston in Bridgeport, NE. He passed away peacefully at home on May 21st in the loving presence of family.
Bill was a farmer who loved the land and lived on multiple farms in the Redington area his entire life. On October 31, 1948, he married the love of his life, Esther. This union continued for 73 years and started a legacy. Bill and Esther had three children, Peggy (Ron) Bertucci; Billy Houston, and Bob (Lisa) Houston; 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Bill was a WWII veteran who proudly served his county. He was known to spend as much time as possible fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed hunting for arrowheads and amassed quite a collection. He was a simple man who deeply loved his family. His family reached far and wide beyond his own three children. Through the years, many found a place in his home. He was always giving and looking out for others. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, siblings, and 1 grandson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Notz Chapel at Camp Rock in Redington, NE with services being officiated by Pastor Rick Parker. Burial to follow in Redington Cemetery with military honors.
