Victor Parker, age 39, of Scottsbluff, NE passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Dalton Cemetery in Dalton, NE with Pastor Leon “Bud” Gillespie officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Dalton Fire Hall.
Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday from 1-6:00 P.M. to leave condolences for the family. Family will be present from 4-6:00 P.M. Victor was born at Memorial Health Center in Sidney, NE to Roland and Paula (Troidl) Parker on June 6, 1985. He went to grade school at Leyton Public Schools in Gurley, NE and high school at Leyton Public Schools in Dalton, NE. He graduated from Leyton High School in 2003. He was a
veteran who served in the Army National Guard and joined as soon as he graduated high school. He was awarded a medal for marksmanship and received an honorable discharge in 2010. While serving in the Army, Victor married Amanda York in 2005 and to that union three daughters were born, Abigail, Alexis, and Ashlynn. Victor and Amanda were married for 16 years. He worked as a train engineer and conductor at Burlington Northern Santa Fe. Victor received safety awards in the form of commemorative coins from BNSF in 2021 and 2022. While working for BNSF, he met his special friend who later became his fiancé, Rene Merker. Victor enjoyed spending time with his family going on vacations and traveling, gaming, watching National Geographic, and big game hunting. Victor is preceded in death by grandfather Clyde Parker, aunt Bonnie (Parker) and husband Jack Kemmerling, uncle Dave and wife Kathy Parker, uncle Darrel Holt, and fiancé Rena Merker.
Victor is survived by daughters Abigail (19), Alexis (16), and Ashlynn (14) Parker of Scottsbluff, NE; parents Roland and Paula Parker of Dalton, NE; brother Nathan and wife Cassi Parker of Gering, NE; sister Pamela and husband Bill Truscott of Sterling, NE; grandparents Jim and Peg Troidl of Sidney, NE; grandmother LaVonne (Berry) Parker of Bridgeport, NE; nieces Rylee and Khloe and nephew Jaxon Parker of Gering, NE, Hailey, Taylor, and Avery Truscott of Sterling, NE; aunts Marva (Parker) Holt of Dalton, NE, Patrica Keenan of Gering, NE, Pam and husband Shane Coker of Little Elm, TX; uncles Jimmy and wife Katherine Troidl of Lincoln, NE and John and wife Marge Troidl of Atkinson, NE; numerous cousins and extended family.
