Rachel Marie Escamilla, 53, of Gering, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Chuck Wagon Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Al Wilson officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may visit from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 16, 2021, at Bridgman Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. Memorials may be made to Chuck Wagon Church. Rachel Marie Escamilla was born July 3, 1968, at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Mario Palomo Sr. and Rachel Escamilla. She attended grade school in Odessa, Texas and received her GED from Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyoming. She lived in Torrington for 20 years and during that time worked at Highway Liquor as a bartender and DSI as a car wash supervisor.

Rachel enjoyed swimming, church, and bible studies, but most of all spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She will be remembered for always offering a “God Bless You”.

Survivors include her father, Mario (Ruth) Palomo Sr. of Torrington, Wyoming; her mother, Rachel (Robert) Johnson of Scottsbluff; daughter, Vanessa Soliz (Andrew Lyng) of Sterling, Colorado; sons, Anthony Soliz, and Abel (Kunisha Navarro) Escamilla all of Gering; brothers, Frank Lozoya Jr. and Mario Palomo Jr. both of Scottsbluff, Eddie Salazar of Bayard, Martin Palomo of Gering, and Mark Palomo of Texas; sister, Jessica (Brandon) Palomo of Fort Laramie, Wyoming; six grandchildren, Audrey and Ella Morris, Emma and Elizabeth Deal, Hannah Soliz, and baby boy Escamilla. Her beloved fur baby Marley.

Rachel was preceded in death by the love of her life, fiancé Brent Mendiola.
