Patricia Ann “Pat” Halstead, 86, of Scottsbluff, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at The Residency at Northfield Retirement Communities. Her memorial service will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Bridgman Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with Pastor Tim Hebbert officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mitchell City Cemetery. Services will be livestreamed on Bridgman Funeral Home Facebook Page. It is respectfully requested that memorials in Pat’s honor be made to the Panhandle Humane Society. Pat was born March 10, 1938 in Fort Collins, CO to Jacob and Esther (Ring) Grasmick. She graduated from Scottsbluff High in 1956.
Pat married Joseph Virgil Bauer on January 20, 1957 and to this union four sons and two daughters were born. On September 3, 1995 Pat married Charles “Chuck” Halstead.
Pat worked for Western Sugar and later the Handy Bus in Gering.
Survivors include her children Fonda (Dennis) Franklin of Paul, ID, Doug (Jutta) Bauer of Vilseck, Germany, Tim Bauer of Scottsbluff, Jason (Diane) Bauer of Round Rock, TX, and Dee Dee Bennett of Gering; grandchildren; great grandchildren; siblings Sharon (Bob) Schledewitz of Morrill and Mike (LeAnn) Grasmick of Scottsbluff.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband Chuck; brother Roger Grasmick and son Randy Bauer.
The family would like to thank Melanie, Sherry, Angie and Elisa at the Residency for the care of our mom and also a special thank you to Sandy from hospice for her loving special care of mom until the end.
