Norman F. Ott, 78, of Scottsbluff, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Andy Griess officiating. Services will be livestreamed on Bridgman Funeral Home Facebook Page. Cremation will follow services and a private family inurnment will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Visitation will be Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Bridgman Funeral Home from 5-7pm. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Norman’s honor be made in care of the family to be designated later to the YMCA or a scholarship at WNCC. He was born on August 29, 1943, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Fred Ott Jr and Martha (Miller) Ott. He attended Longfellow grade school and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1961. He then attended Scottsbluff Junior College where he obtained his Associates degree.

On April 25, 1965, he married Linda Lupher at Zion Church in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Norm and Linda had two children Gregory Jack (1968) and Kellee Lyn (1971).

In 1965, he enlisted in the National Guard. He started working at Scottsbluff National Bank in January of 1965 as a teller. He continued to advance his banking career including manager and Vice President of Scottsbluff Savings Co. and retired after 35+ years. After retiring from the banking industry, he continued helping people by working for Consumer Credit Counseling for 8 years.

He was a lifetime member of the Scottsbluff Elks Club. He served on the board for the Cougar Booster Club, the local Heart Association, and the First United Methodist Church. He was active with 23 Club Baseball and the YMCA. His great loves and interests were golfing, WNCC and Scottsbluff High School sports activities and Husker football. But his greatest love was his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Linda Ott of Scottsbluff, NE; his children Greg & Rebecca Ott of Indio, CA and Kellee & Stephen Jensen of Johnstown, CO; grandchildren Jacqueline Ott of Omaha, NE, Calvin Ott (Porchea Schafer) of Omaha, NE, Briana Enlow of Scottsbluff, NE and Jackson Enlow of Johnstown, CO; his three great-granddaughters AunaMarie, Roselynn, Adalynn and his bonus great-grandson Brayden; brother Steve & Sue Ott of Scottsbluff; sister-in-law Maryann Ott of Gering; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary and Randy Hunt of Lenexa, KS; special nieces and nephews and extended family; and all of the special guys in his life that played golf, cards and had coffee with him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Martha Ott; brothers Jerry and Howard Ott; in-laws Jack and Betty Lupher; nieces Tamara Busch and Natalie Ott and great-niece Sophia Canchola.
