Mona Jane Leach (Gable) passed away June 17, 2024 in Aurora, Colorado.
Mona was born February 1, 1960 to Donald & Evelyn (Issie) Gable and attended Gering Schools graduating with the class of 1978. She married Danny Leach and later divorced. She has one son, Joey who she raised by herself and was very proud of his accomplishments especially when he won state wrestling in his weight class and his team won the state Class A title in 1997.
Mona worked in the insurance business most of her life and became friends with many people. She loved flowers and working in her yard. She enjoyed having a beer and listening to old music and reminiscing about the good old days.
Mona is survived by her son Joey his wife Holly and their son Keane of Gering, brothers and sister-in laws, Rick & Vicky Gable of Gering and David & Michelle Gable of Aledo, Texas, Sandi Gable of Gering and sister Robin Biltjinitis of Scottsbluff. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Mandi (Brian) Sauer of Bayard, NE, Heather (Colby) Elliott of Gering, Travis (Stevie) Gable of Gering, Garrett (Brianna) Gable of Fort Collins, CO, Montana Biltjinitis of Doniphan, NE, Jayme (Tommy) Haag of Gering, Kylie & Kamryn Gable of Aledo, Texas and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in life by her parents, brothers Danny Gable and Don Gable, Jr., grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles. She was also preceded in life by her loving black labs, Soda, Leona and Grace.
She loved the Rollings Stones and said, “You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you’ll find you get what you need”.
Her memorial service will be July 10, 2024 at Gering Memorial Chapel at 2pm. Following the service there will be a reception for all Mona’s family and friends at Hotel 21 & Co. at 3pm.
