Melissa (Missy) Lynn (Ivey) Mortimore 55 got her angle wings on Wednesday June 5, 2024 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado with her family at her side.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday June 15, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. at her home located at 4814 Summit Rd, Scottsbluff, NE.
Born December 18, 1968 to Elmer and Ellen (Rienzanstein) Ivey in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
She attended Mitchell public schools from grade school until high school through mid senior year.
Missy married James (Jim) Mortimore on May 5th 1989. From this union came two boys, Wes and Austin Mortimore.
Jim and Missy resided in Gering and Scottsbluff throughout their marriage together.
Missy worked at a number of jobs including Pizza Hut, Runza, County Keno, Microtel Inn and Suites, Star-Herald, and Brown Sheep company. She was a hard worker and very much a people person. Missy loved doing anything she could to help people always going above and beyond.
She very much loved her grandchildren Axel, Riverson, and Diesel. She devoted any and all free time in the pursuit of making sure they had anything and everything she thought they needed or they wanted. She was the most incredible Granny, and if you ask her grandchildren who their favorite person is the answer is always Granny.
She loved to get dressed up even if the occasion was just going to a store, She was on her own time for sure.
She enjoyed shopping, going garaging, sorting through second-hand stores and thrifting. She most especially loved spending time with family and friends.
She adored the Fourth of July and just about any holiday that the families could get together. These were very happy occasions. She would make a few of her famous desserts for get togethers and everyone will miss her chocolate chip cookies!
She is survived by her Husband Jim Mortimore. Sons and Daughters in-law Wes and Maeghann Mortimore, Austin and Sara Mortimore. Grandchildren Axel, Riverson and Diesel Mortimore.

Nephews: Shaun (Melissa) Weimer-Ivey, Keith Ferrerya, Brian Jr. and Brandon Ivey, Christian Ivey and Greg (Sam) Ford.
Nieces: Amanda Ivey and Ashlee Borges Ivey, Amber (Jimmy) Ford Valentin, Katelyn and Stephanie Cwik.
Great Nephews and Nieces: Rashaun, Aubree, and Denver Weimer, Josiah, Jaxyn, Journee, Jhett, Paige, Liam. Maddy, Lexi and Charlie Ford and Bianca Valentín and her great great niece Alani.
She was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Catherine (Sterkel) and David Rienzanstein, Walter and Elizabeth (Mack) Ivey, her parents Elmer and Ellen, her parents in law Ben and Karen (Owens) Mortimore and her sister Lisa, brother in-laws Dan Ferrerya and Leonard Narvais also some of her aunts and uncles on both sides of the family.
