Mary Ann Leseberg, devoted wife and mother, died unexpectedly on August 4, 2024 surrounded by her loving family in Greeley, CO. At her request cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
Mary Ann was born on August 16, 1950 in Scottsbluff, NE to George and Ruth (Feather) McDaniel. She was greeted by her loving sister, Laura Helen, who would be her most trusted confidant. As a young child she could be found tinkering in her dad’s garage taking things apart and figuring out how things worked. As a teenager, she learned how to cook and sew which would serve her well when she had her own family. She graduated from Bayard High School in 1968 and went to work for Western Sugar Factory in Bayard, NE for 30 years as a Laboratory Leadman. She married P. Wayne Muhr and together they had four children: Troy, Jocilyn, Brian, and Brett. Wayne died three years after they were married and she was determined to raise her children on her own. But then in 1982 she met the love of her life, L. Paul Leseberg. They were married and from this union their daughter, Sahara, was born.
Mary Ann will be remembered for the devotion she had for her family. Her grandiose holiday decorating, homemade chicken noodle over mashed potatoes, glace, and “congloption” are just a few ways she showed her love. Mary Ann adored her family and thought her grandkids were her greatest joy. She always had a well-stocked cupboard full of snacks for them and would whip up a meal in minutes. Mary Ann always put others first, never complained, and remembered everyone’s birthdays, even the dogs. She was passionate about animals of all kinds and made sure they didn’t go hungry either. She was a fearless mother who taught her children to be resilient, inventive, and to never be afraid to fail. She had a
warm smile for everyone she met and had a witty disposition. There was always laughter in the room she was in.
Mary Ann was welcomed to Heaven by her parents, George and Ruth; first husband, Wayne; sister, Laura Kitt; infant brother, Louis McDaniel; niece, Karen Peterson; and nephew, Greg Kitt. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, L. Paul Leseberg; sons: Troy Muhr; Brian (Jamie) Muhr; Brett (Erica) Muhr; daughters: Jocilyn (Mark) Blanco; Sahara (Gary) Moenning; step-daughter Monica Leseberg. Grandchildren: Trae Blanco, Courtland Muhr, Conner Muhr, Daeton Blanco, Tabbitha Muhr, Kellen Muhr, Trystan Muhr, Addisyn Muhr, Hayden Garey, Reese Muhr, and Dawson Muhr. Step-grandchildren: Matt Garret, Thomas Garret, Jennifer Garret.
Thank you for being our rock who guided us to be the people we are today. You taught us forgiveness and allowed us to learn from our mistakes.
