Authorities say a Scottsbluff man died as a result of injuries suffered in a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, first responders were called around 5:40 p.m. to the scene about 20 miles north of Scottsbluff on Highway 71, finding a crash involving a Chevy Malibu and Dodge Ram pickup.
Spokesman Cody Thomas says the preliminary investigation found the northbound Malibu crossed the center line into the southbound lane and the southbound Ram attempted to avoid the collision by entering the northbound lane, but the two vehicles collided.
Thomas says the driver of the Malibu, 43-year-old Larry Fenner, was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the driver of the Ram was transported to Regional West with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
