A Minatare man has been arrested and charged with six felonies following an armed home invasion east of Scottsbluff.

On Tuesday, Scotts Bluff County Deputies were dispatched to the residence on Highway 26.

The victim said the suspect- later identified as 54-year-old Lance Gibbons- forced his way into the residence and pointed a gun at her head.

Gibbons then left the area in a white Toyota 4Runner and an all-points-bulletin was issued.

Shortly after, authorities made contact with the vehicle south of the River Bridge on 21st Avenue. Officers found a case holding a loaded .22 caliber Magnum revolver that had been tossed from the vehicle approximately 100 yards from the traffic stop.

Authorities interviewed Gibbons who advised it was his gun and he did throw it out during the pursuit. He also admitted he was at the aforementioned residence prior, but denied pointing the gun at anybody.

Gibbons is now facing felony charges including: Burglary; Use of Firearm to Commit a Felony; Terroristic Threats, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person; and Tampering with Evidence

A preliminary hearing has been set for Tuesday morning in Scotts Bluff County Court with bond set at $250,000.
