The Gering girls basketball team had their season come to an end on Monday night as the Bulldogs fell in the opening game of the B-8 Sub-District Tournament to Alliance by the final of 32-26.
It was an offensive struggle for both teams on the night as their were a combined (unofficially) 40 turnovers in the games; 19 from Gering and 21 from Alliance.
Alliance led 10-5 at the end of the first quarter and they were ahead 16-13 at halftime.
The third quarter offensively proved to be too much to overcome for Gering as they didn’t score until the 1:49 mark of the quarter, going over 6 minutes without a point out of the locker room at halftime.
Macey Seebohm, Cece Hudson, and Addison Weber all scored eight points to lead Alliance in Scoring while Jacey Cochran, the freshman, topped Gering with 12 points off the bench.
With the loss Gering’s season finished with a record of 6-17.
Alliance improved to 9-15 and they’ll play tonight against Scottsbluff (at Scottsbluff) at 6 pm. We’ll have the broadcast on 107.3 The Trail and KHYYfm.com starting with pregame coverage at 5:45 pm.
