This is a tasty casserole. It is easy to fix and transport and provides a healthy, well-rounded meal in one dish. My kids have always liked this dish, and my extended family was introduced to it in the silage field and really liked it as well. It reheats well for leftovers in a hurry. It is also an easy dish to take to the field. This can also be made in a crock pot on low for 4 hours if the cook also has to be the hired hand.

  • 1 ½ lb lean ground beef
  • 1/8 cup chopped fresh onion or 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed or ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 1/3 block of Velveeta cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 can of cream of celery soup
  • 1 small package of frozen corn or 1 can of whole corn
  • 1 package of frozen tater tots

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Brown hamburger, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper
  • Melt cheese with milk in microwave stirring frequently
  • Mix melted cheese, cream of celery soup, corn and browned hamburger
  • Layer tater tops on the bottom of a greased 9×13 casserole dish, add hamburger mixture, and top with the rest of the tater tots.
  • Cook for 40 minutes.
