A Scottsbluff convenience store manager has been arrested for reportedly stealing more than $100,000 from his employer over the past year.

40-year-old Jamie Deckert is charged with ‘Theft by Taking- More than $5,000’, which is a Class 2A Felony.

Court records say that he stole roughly $190,000 while working to play skill games. His boss confronted him last month after discovering the thefts, and they went to the Scottsbluff Police Department together to report the crime.

The arrest affidavit says that Deckert admitted to having an out of control gambling problem, and would take money from the cash bag from the safe, the cash register, and skill games themselves to continue playing the machines.

He was arraigned on the single felony charge Monday afternoon in Scotts Bluff County Court.
