A calmer, warmer week in store for the region

A calmer, warmer week in store for the region
April 24th, 2022 | Bill Boyer, Weather Analyst

After a powerful storm system brought widespread strong and damaging winds to the area for three straight days, the weather will change for the better the next week.

By Monday, winds are expected to fall to just 5 to 15 mph. They are expected to remain that way through Wednesday. Slightly stronger winds – but still only 10 to 20 mph – are expected Thursday.

There is a chance of late-day thunderstorms Thursday, and only slight chances of rain Friday and Saturday. Gusty winds will return Friday through the weekend, but at this time, they are not expected to be nearly as strong as the past system.

Temperatures will warm to the upper 50s to near 60 Monday, then be in the 70s through the workweek. Cooler temps – in the 60s – are likely this upcoming weekend.
