The WNCC Board of Governors received an update on the start of the Presidential Search Wednesday, as a member of the search consultant firm The Pauly Group joined their meeting virtually.
Dr. Angela Provart told the Board she will be in the area next month to make an in-person assessment of the institution, with visits to the Scottsbluff campus Dec. 7, and the Alliance and Sidney campuses the following day.
Provart told the group she’s also looking forward to meeting with the Search Advisory Committee, the membership of which was announced at the meeting, to develop criteria for the candidate profile.
“I’m excited to get out there and see the differences in the campuses. And it’s good too, because when I talk to people interested in the position, they will ask me, ‘What was the feeling, what was the culture like?’, and so this way I’ve actually been to the campuses and can share that with them from an outsider perspective,” said Provart. “Obviously, I’m going to be there for (only) a few hours, so it’s not like I’ll know all the ins and outs, but at least I can give them my perspective.”
Provart said the timeline is in good shape and in fact, she’s already started to reach out to candidates that she believes would be interested in the position.
Board Chair Lynne Klemke said it’s likely the majority of the work to be done by the Search Advisory Committee will be coming in the first few months of the new year.
