Those interested in learning about current trends in cash rental rates, lease provisions, and crop and grazing land considerations should make plans to attend an upcoming workshop in Rushville.

A Farmland and Pasture Lease workshop will be held April 29, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Sheridan County Extension Office (800 S Loofborrow Street, Rushville). To register call the Sheridan County Extension Office at (308) 327-2312. The program is free and open to the public.

This workshop is designed to provide up to date information on management strategies for both the landlords and tenants involved in agricultural land leases. Nebraska Extension Educator Jessica Groskopf will share the preliminary results of the 2022 Nebraska Farm Real Estate Survey including land values and cash rental rates. She will discuss common lease provisions for both farmland and pasture, review typical crop-share arrangements, and provide tips for improving landlord-tenant communications.
