Charles Mandelko age 66 of Broken Bow, NE passed away November 26, 2023.
Funeral Services will be Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11:00 am at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, NE. Memorials may be sent to Govier Brothers Mortuary at 542 South 9th Ave Broken Bow, NE 68822. A visitation will take place on Thursday, November 30th from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm with family greeting 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Charles Robert Mandelko was born May 12, 1957, in Chadron, NE to Harold and Eunice (Nadobny) Mandelko. Charles attended and graduated from Chardon High School. After high school Charles worked at Safeway in Chadron as a Bagboy, then working his way up to Produce Manager. After a year he then went to work for BNSF. In 1978 Charles transferred to Broken Bow. He retired from BNSF in 2016.
Charles enjoyed train memorabilia, cooking with a Dutch Oven, hunting, fishing, the great outdoors, and golf in retirement.
Charles was preceded in death by a son Dan in 2020, and his parents Harold and Eunice.
Charles is survived by his significant other Dixie Nielsen of Broken Bow, children Stacy (Tom) Kleinjan of Hastings, Justin Mandelko of Miller, and Ryleigh Lindstrom of Broken Bow, eight grandchildren Dana, Alex, Natala, Matthew, Jacob, Kaleb, Brick, and Heather, two brothers Don Mandelko of Whitney, Marty Mandelko of Chadron, and two sisters Connie James of Ankeny, IA, and Shelly Mandelko of Tampa, FL.
