Carol Hansen age 73 of Broken Bow, NE passed away June 9, 2023, at the Grand Island Regional Medical Center in Grand Island, NE.
Memorial Services will be Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 10:00 am at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow, NE with Kathy Salts PMA officiating. Inurnment will be in the Litchfield Cemetery at Litchfield, NE. Memorials are suggested to the Family. A register book may be signed at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, NE. Carol J. Kirk Hansen was born May 19, 1950, in Broken Bow, NE to Charles Delbert and Arle (Hamilton) Kirk. Carol grew up in the Ansley area. On January 26, 1967, Carol was united in marriage to Earl Gene Hansen in Lexington, NE. The couple lived in Ansley, then moved and made their home in Broken Bow. To this union two daughters were born Alnetta and Christina.
Carol worked for Tumbleweed Café, Dog N’ Suds, and then BD where she worked until retirement in 1991, due to health issues. In 2012 Carol had a kidney transplant.
Carol enjoyed camping, country western music, baby sitting, and crocheting.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Arle, seven siblings: Betty, Shirley, Ivan, Jim, Melvin, “Bub” (Delbert), and Irene, and infants Earl Hansen and Janet Hansen.
Carol is survived by her husband Earl of Broken Bow, daughters Alnetta (Steve) Effenbeck of North Platte and Christina Lenstrom of Broken Bow, grandson Marcus Allen Lenstrom, siblings Edna Ideen of Lincoln, Phyllis Predmore of North Platte, Barbara (Virgil) Johnson of Berwyn, and Perry (Mary) Kirk of Hazard.
