The Winnebago Football Team is under new leadership as Dusty Welsh takes over the program for Adam James, who is now an Assistant at Lyons-Decatur Northeast. Coach Welsh gives us his background.

Winnebago said goodbye to Antrell Harlan, Cashus Kearnes, Kaden Kennedy, Melaki George, Santonio Nieman, Mateo Canales, Xanthony Cleveland, Devin Houghton, and Oscar Earth last year.
Welsh explains how the offseason went.
I think the Indians have a chance to do very well in the All Nations Conference once again this year.
Jeff’s Season Outlook:
Winnebago hopes to do big things once again this season. Welsh says the goal is to be playing on Championship Saturday.
Welsh says the Indians don’t have a ton of kids out this year.
He talks about Winnebago keeping things going.
The Indians open up the season at Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, SD on Thursday, August 29th at 6:00 p.m. Coach Welsh previews the matchup.
It will be interesting to see how Winnebago fares this year with a lot of new faces and a new Coach.
I think it’s going to be important for the Indians to stay healthy given their low numbers.
Jeff’s take on the season:
I feel like Winnebago is going to be good once again this year. I think the Indians have a good chance to get back to the Dakota Dome and play for another Championship. As cliche as it sounds, Winnebago has to be focused on each individual game that comes with each week and not get caught looking past anyone. I think the Indians’ ability to focus and play at a high level each and every week will be very important.
