The West Point City Council held a Special Meeting on Wednesday, and passed an Ordinance to impose a half cent sales and use tax effective October 1st. City Administrator Tom Goulette says this is tied in with the pool project.

Councilman Rusty Smith made the motion to introduce and suspend the three readings with Councilman Ryan Penrose seconding.

Motion for Final Passage was made by Councilman Mark Buse and seconded by Councilman Shea Stokely.

Goulette explains the next steps in the process.

Goulette says they had to have something on this by Friday to get it sent in to the State.
