The Stanton Volleyball Team went 1-2 at the Boone Central Invite on Saturday, winning 2-1 over Ord, but falling 2-0 to Crofton and Columbus Lakeview. The Mustangs then split the Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Triangular Monday night, winning 2-1 over the host Raiders, but falling 2-1 to North Bend Central.

The Mustangs won set one 25-13 over the Chanitcleers, and took set three 25-18 while dropping set two 25-20.

The Viqueens won set one 25-21, and set two 25-17.

The Warriors took the first set 25-22, and the second set 25-19.

Stanton won set one against the Tigers 25-15 before dropping set two 27-25 and set three 25-17.

The Mustangs won the first set over the Raiders 25-21, and took set three 26-24 after losing set two 25-22.

Sylvia Cunningham had 9 kills and 10 digs while Savannah Siebrandt totaled 19 digs. Olivia Cunningham added 14 digs and 13 set assists while Kinley Pohlman notched 11 digs. Kelby Pohlman dished out 11 set assists.

Really good play from Stanton I thought. Very impressive.

The Mustangs (4-7) host Boone Central (2-4) and Norfolk Catholic (6-2) in a Triangular Thursday night.

The Cardinals went 1-2 at their own Invite on Saturday, beating Central City 2-0, but losing 2-0 to Tekamah-Herman and 2-1 to Oakland-Craig while the Knights swept Battle Creek and Summerland 2-0 at their Home Triangular Thursday night.

I look for Stanton to beat Boone Central and give Norfolk Catholic all they can handle and then some.

It should be a heck of a night for the Mustangs if Monday was any indication of what’s to come.

I was really impressed with Stanton’s play on Monday, and look for them to carry that over into Thursday.

The Mustangs are a team that is improving each night, and figure to be a force to be reckoned with the rest of this season.

I feel like Stanton is finally starting to find themselves and an identity at that.

The Mustangs are playing together as a team and executing well, and I think those are two big reasons for Stanton’s improvement, play, and surge as of late.

The Mustangs have to continue their hot play as of late and must stay consistent.

Stanton has to keep trending upward and can’t afford to take any steps back.
