The Stanton Football Team won 22-8 at Clarkson/Leigh last Friday night.

Parker Krusemark was 5-8 passing for 124 yards. He also ran the ball 12 times for 66 yards.

Krusemark made 14 tackles while Mitchell Hupp tallied 11. Damien Erickson totaled 9 while Barrett Wilke and Becker Pohlman notched 7 apiece.

The Mustangs had 348 yards of total offense, including 192 rushing.

The defense gave up 224 yards of total offense, 141 coming on the ground.

Excellent game and effort from Stanton.

The Mustangs (4-0) host Wisner-Pilger (2-2) Friday night.

The Gators fell 46-26 at Howells-Dodge last week.

Stanton beat Laurel-Concord-Coleridge 11-8 while Wisner-Pilger fell to the Bears 36-14.

The Gators beat Wakefield 64-22 while the Mustangs topped the Trojans 81-50.

Should be a great and interesting game for sure being a rivalry game and everything.

I fully expect the game to be very close and competitive in what recently was an 11-man matchup.

It’s pretty crazy and cool to think that these two will square off in an 8-man game.

Both schools have seemed to embrace the 8-man game, and done pretty respectable in D-1 so far.

It will be interesting to see what happens and transpires come Friday night.

Stanton has to do what they have done all season, and have balance on offense like they did last week.

The Mustangs have to be physical at the line of scrimmage and limit turnovers.

Stanton has to create turnovers and get good penetration in the offensive backfield.

The offensive line has to block well and give Krusemark time to throw and open up lanes in the running game.

All these things are keys to the game for the Mustangs for me, and if Stanton can do them I think they stand a good chance to win.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
