The Pender Girls Basketball Team won 36-29 at Wisner-Pilger Friday night before downing Howells-Dodge 42-35 at home on Saturday, and Tri County Northeast 54-20 at home Tuesday night.

The Pendragons led the Gators 10-3 after the 1st quarter and 19-16 at halftime.

Pender’s lead was trimmed to 1 at 27-26 after three.

The Pendragons tripled up Wisner-Pilger 9-3 in the 4th quarter.

Lillie Timm had 19 points while Maya Dolliver totaled 7.

The Jaguars led the Pendragons 9-7 after one before Pender won the 2nd quarter 16-13 to take a 23-22 lead into the locker room.

The Pendragons outscored Howells-Dodge 13-7 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 36-29 at the end of three.

Both teams scored 6 points in the 4th quarter.

Dolliver led the way with 14 points while Timm notched 9. Olyiva Nelson totaled 9 rebounds while Avery Wegner had 7.

Pender (17-2) hosts Lyons-Decatur Northeast (4-14) in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament Friday night.

The Cougars won 37-30 at home over Madison Tuesday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Pendragons beat LDNE in Lyons 65-13 on January 5th.

I look for Pender to win in similar fashion Friday night.

I look for the Pendragons to be one of the main contenders in this conference tournament.

I fully expect Pender to be playing next Saturday at Midland whether that’s for the Championship or 3rd place.

The Pendragons are a very good team that should be feared by the rest of the field.

Friday night’s game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
