The Oakland-Craig Football Team picked up a huge 21-19 upset road win at Hartington Cedar Catholic Friday night.
The Knights trailed 6-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. The game was tied at 13 at halftime.
Oakland-Craig went up 21-19 at the end of the 3rd quarter to make up the final score as the Trojans missed a field goal wide right as time expired.
Braylon Anderson was 11-18 passing for 183 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Lincoln Benne had 5 catches for 127 yards.
LJ McNeill ran the ball 29 times for 113 yards and scored twice.
Trevor Weitzenkamp made 10 tackles.
Oakland-Craig rolled up 345 yards of total offense, including 216 through the air.
Head Coach Joe Anderson says it was a huge win after losing to Malcolm a couple of weeks ago.
Oakland-Craig (3-2) opens up District Play Friday night at home against Fremont Bergan (3-2).
Bergan won 37-7 at home over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder last week.
Coach Anderson says the the two teams know each other very well.
Coach Anderson says he hopes the win over the Trojans serves as kind of a springboard heading into the rest of the season.
I think it will.
I think the win over Cedar Catholic was just what the Knights needed.
It was their break, and now I look for Oakland-Craig to get going and rolling, and I got them to beat Bergan Friday night.
