Central Community College volleyball is pleased to announce the signing of Josie Richards, a 2021 graduate of Oakland-Craig Junior/Senior High School.
A setter and right-side hitter for the Knights, Richards logged 862 assists in 2020 to become Oakland-Craig’s single season assist record holder. Following her senior campaign, she was named First Team East Husker Conference and participated in the 2021 Northeast Nebraska All-Star Volleyball match. As a sophomore, junior and senior, Richards was named Academic All-State by the Nebraska School Activities Association and the Lincoln Journal-Star and received honorable mention honors from the Omaha World-Herald and the Journal-Star.
“Josie will add depth and versatility to the roster in both the setting and hitting positions and brings a competitive background from both her high school and club teams,” said CCC head coach Abby Pollart. “We are excited to have Josie join Raiders volleyball.”
Richards will be an academic transfer major at CCC. She is the daughter of Terry and Kate Richards of Oakland.
