North Bend Central Volleyball knocks off Wisner-Pilger
September 20th, 2021 | Jeff Axtell

The North Bend Central Volleyball Team picked up a big win at home over Wisner-Pilger Thursday night, winning 3-1.

The Tigers won set one 25-18 and set two 25-22 before losing set three 25-17, and then claimed set four 25-21.

Very good win for North Bend Central.

The Tigers (10-4) take on Oakland-Craig (11-5) on the road Tuesday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Knights went 3-1 and took 3rd at the Seward Invitational on Saturday, defeating a C-1 top five team in Broken Bow, losing to C-1, No. 1 Lincoln Lutheran, and beating Omaha Concordia and Class B Seward as well. Oakland-Craig also won 3-1 at Class C-1, No. 2 Wahoo Thursday night.

So certainly Oakland-Craig is a great team and has knocked off some absolute powers and juggernauts.

The Knights seem to be getting better each and every week too.

So they will certainly be a handful for North Bend Central, but I expect the Tigers to be ready.

This should be a great match between two outstanding teams.

I’m expecting a four or five set match on Tuesday with many or all close sets.

North Bend Central has to try and slow down Bailey Helzer and others.

I think North Bend Central’s height with Kaitlyn Emanuel and others will really help them in this match.

I feel like the Tigers matchup well with the Knights.

Oakland-Craig might be a little quicker, but North Bend Central should have the height advantage in this one you would think.

It figures to be a highly entertaining and compelling match in Oakland Tuesday night that’s for sure.

First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on the Bull.
