September 20th, 2021 | Jeff Axtell

The North Bend Central Football Team fell 50-27 at Boys Town Friday night.

Brodey Johnson was 23-34 for 290 yards passing with 4 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Ian Virka hauled in 6 passes for 107 yards with two touchdowns. Colin Rhynalds made 5 catches for 62 yards.

Virka made 22 tackles while Trevor Ortmeier totaled 12. Nate McDonald had 10.

The Tigers racked up 336 yards of total offense, including 290 through the air.

Turnovers and defense continue to hamper North Bend Central.

The Tigers (0-4) take on Schuyler (0-5) on the road Friday night.

The Warriors fell 41-0 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder last week.

This game is coming at a very good time for North Bend Central I feel.

Not just because it should be a win for the Tigers, but because it’s a game where North Bend Central can work on and clean up a lot of things.

I feel a game like this, if the Tigers can win it big and going away, can do a lot for their confidence.

The defense should dominate as should the offense, and I feel that will help North Bend Central the rest of the season.

The schedule isn’t easy after this week whatsoever, but I think a win over Schuyler will better prepare the Tigers for their last four regular season games than if they didn’t play the Warriors.

It has been an inauspicious start to the season for North Bend Central….not the type of start the Tigers were envisioning I’m sure.

But there’s a lot of season left and North Bend Central has to regroup and go into these last 5 games and try and win them all.

Nothing can be done about the first four games so all the Tigers need to do from here is move forward.
