December 5th, 2022 | Jeff Axtell

The North Bend Central Boys Basketball Team is off to a bit of a slow start as the Tigers lost 60-41 at Bishop Neumann in Thursday night’s season opener before falling 59-44 at Class B Seward on Saturday.

The Cavaliers led 21-8 after one before the Tigers won the second quarter 12-8 to make it a 29-20 game at halftime.

North Bend Central won the 3rd quarter 18-14 to close within 5 at 43-38 at the end of three.

Neumann outscored the Tigers 17-3 in the 4th quarter.

Tough start to the season for North Bend Central.

The Tigers (0-2) host Malcolm (2-0) Tuesday night.

The Clippers won 54-52 at home over Auburn Friday night.

Malcolm has looked the par so far this year.

North Bend Central is dealing with injuries right now and I think that’s made a difference.

It’s going to take some time for kids to step up and get going.

I think eventually they will, but right now the Tigers are kind of limited in who can score for them.

North Bend Central may not win on Tuesday, but the Tigers have some games coming up that could help them turn their season around.

We’ll see what happens here in the next couple of weeks as I think North Bend Central will get going eventually.

I think it’s more a matter of when than if honestly.

This is a team and program that has seen and had a lot of success lately and I can’t just se the Tigers letting this season get away from them.
