FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University has announced its football schedule for the 2023 season. The Warriors are coming off an 8-3 season in which they finished tied for third in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) with a 7-3 mark.
The 2023 season will open up on the road for Midland as they travel to face Clarke University on August 26 in Dubuque, Iowa. A week later, the Warriors will begin GPAC play with a home contest with the University of Jamestown. The home opener is slated for Saturday, September 2 at 1:00 p.m.
“We are excited about the 2023 football campaign,” commented head coach Jeff Jamrog. “Our players had a great spring and are ready to attack the summer. Head strength coach Brighton Hill has a great plan for getting our student-athletes ready for the rigorous GPAC schedule. Our fans will enjoy the five home games against quality GPAC competition, led by defending national champion Northwestern.”
Midland will also host Briar Cliff University (Sept. 9), Northwestern College (Sept. 30), Mount Marty University (Oct. 14), and Doane University (Oct. 21). The home finale against the Tigers will serve as the 2023 Homecoming Game and will also be Senior Day. All home games are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. kickoffs at Heedum Field.
Road games in the GPAC include trips to Dakota Wesleyan University (Sept. 17), Morningside University (Sept. 23), Dordt University (Oct. 7), Concordia University (Oct. 28), and Hastings College (Nov. 4).
