The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Girls Basketball Team lost 60-53 to Oakland-Craig in the opening round of the Class C-2 State Tournament at Lincoln Southeast last Tuesday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The game was tied at 15 after one before the Bluejays won the 2nd quarter 14-13 to take a 29-28 lead into the locker room.

O-C outscored GACC 17-11 in the 3rd quarter to pull in front 45-40 at the end of three.

The Knights won the 4th quarter 15-13.

Kelsey Steffen and Livia Hunke each had 10 points while Sophia Hass added 9, and Kassidy Kaup 8.

Tough loss and hard pill to swallow if you are the Bluejays.

GACC ends their year with a 25-2 record.

Great season for the Bluejays, but a tough way to end the year.

GACC loses quite a bit of talent from this year’s team too I believe so the Bluejays have a lot of work to do to get back to the top going forward.

GACC has maintained an elite level of play, but the last couple of years at State have been tough sledding for the Bluejays.

GACC has to relearn how to recapture that State Magic, and get back up there in the near future.

The Bluejays can definitely do that too they just have to keep working hard and persevering.
