GACC Football rolls to win over Madison
September 24th, 2021 | Jeff Axtell

The GACC Football Team won 56-14 at home over Madison last Friday night.

Coy Kreikemeier was 8-9 passing for 159 yards with 3 touchdowns while Reece Schlecht went 5-8 for 84 yards and two scores.

Nate Niewohner hauled in 8 passes for 155 yards and 3 TD’s.

Jesse Steffen made 9 tackles while Dax Doernemann totaled 7.

The Bluejays had 385 yards of total offense, 243 coming through the air.

Solid offensive performance from GACC in this one.

The Bluejays (2-2) host Clarkson/Leigh (2-2) Friday night in action that can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The Patriots lost 22-8 at home to Stanton last week.

GACC won last year’s game 36-30 in what was a crazy game.

Can the Bluejays do it again Friday night?

It’s a toss up if you ask me.

I think GACC has an advantage being at home and these two teams being pretty even, but Clarkson/Leigh has been pretty tough so far this year.

Lutheran High Northeast is 4-0, but I don’t think the Eagles are the best 4-0 team out there.

They squeaked by GACC by 2 at home and edged Wakefield last week.

Wisner-Pilger and Stanton both blew out the Trojans and the Patriots only lost by 14 to the Mustangs.

So certainly based on that you would think Clarkson/Leigh has a bit of an advantage coming in, but games are not played on paper.

The game is in Beemer and it’s Homecoming for the Bluejays and being at home you know they will come ready to play and play a good game.

It will be really interesting to see what happens Friday night.

Should be a barn burner on the Bull for sure.

This game and next week’s game are huge for GACC in terms of the playoff picture and their chances of making the postseason so the Bluejays must play with a sense of urgency and purpose Friday night.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. with pregame starting at 5:30 on the Bull.
