(SIOUX CITY, Iowa) Jan. 31, 2023 – Fifteen years after the first Sioux City St. Patrick’s Day Parade traveled down 4th Street with just a few cars and trucks, the annual event will return – bigger and better than ever. The Sioux City St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 17. The event starts on Historic 4th Street at Iowa Street and continues west down 4th, ending at 4th and Water Streets. The annual celebration typically features more than 50 floats, musicians and groups along with scores of spectators.

“When we started the St. Patrick’s Day Parade 15 years ago, we never imagined it would become one of the biggest events of Spring,” said Mac Dolan, co-chair of the Sioux City St. Patrick’s Day Parade. “We invite businesses, organizations and Irish families sign up to be a part of the Parade, and hope everyone will don their most festive green to kick-off the weekend in true St. Patrick’s Day style.”

The Sioux City St. Patrick’s Day Parade is presented by sponsor MVS Metals. Participants in the parade will include area schools, sports teams, businesses as well as families with Irish heritage. Those interested in participating in the Sioux City St. Patrick’s Day Parade or working as a volunteer can visit www.siouxcitystpats.com.

The Sioux City St. Patrick’s Day Parade was created in 2009 by a group of Irish Siouxlanders who wanted a fun way to bring our community together to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The annual event has grown to feature a wide variety of organizations, schools, businesses and families every year on St. Patrick’s Day.
