Overview:

The Clarkson/Leigh Volleyball Team figures to be very good and strong once again this year.

The Patriots are young, but have a lot of promising talent returning and coming in that will help lead them this year.

Here is Clarkson/Leigh’s Projected Varsity Roster:

Korbee Wendt 25 MB 5’11’” SR
Chloe Hanel 4 MH 5’11’’ JR
Gracie Eisenmann 15 OH 5’8” JR
Tanyn Larson 9 RS 5’8” JR
Izabel Hollatz 1 S 5’8” SO
Brynn Settje 8 OH 5’9” SO
Alyssa Gurnsey 2 DS 5’4” JR
Cadence Indra 16 DS 5’6” SO
Kammy Held 13 DS 5’7” SO
Baylee Settje 11 MH/OH 5’9” SO
Kendall Schneider S/DS 5’4” FR
Ava Kasik DS 5’5” FR

The players that stand out to me there are Wendt, Hanel, Eisenmann, Larson, Hollatz, and Settje.

Those 6 figure to lead and set the tone for the team this season.

Makenna Held, Bailie Graybill, Melissa Bunner, Kennedy Settje, and Natalie Brabec were all lost to graduation last year.

Head Coach Becky Schneider.

I think the Patriots will have another great year and be in contention for another State berth at season’s end.

I feel like Clarkson/Leigh will be right there in the thick of things come the postseason.

Season Outlook:

Clarkson/Leigh looks to have another great season again this year. Coach Schneider says her team has been pushing to make themselves better, and will be very competitive once again this year. “We are a young team, but we bring back a lot of experience! We have some underclassmen who are stepping up and want to fill a few positions. We’ve tried a few different options over the course of the summer, trying to see what works and what doesn’t! We love that our team are all competitors! They love to battle and they all want to win which is awesome because they’ve been pushing each other in practice and making each other better!! We’re really excited to get the season going and see what these girls are made of!”

The Patriots have a lot of anticipation and excitement coming into this season. Coach Schneider is thrilled about being in Sub-District C2-6 with Wisner-Pilger, Stanton, Lutheran High Northeast, and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family.

Clarkson/Leigh opens up the season on Saturday, August 27th in Grand Island against Aurora and Milford. Coach Schneider says her team is looking forward to both matches.

When you look at Clarkson/Leigh’s schedule it appears the beginning and end of the season will be when the Patriots face the toughest competition so I think it’s important for Clarkson/Leigh to be ready from the get go and be playing their best Volleyball at the end of the season.

I think that will be the case and look for the Patriots to go on a big winning streak after their first few matches and before their last couple regular season matchups.
