The Clarkson/Leigh Boys Basketball Team lost 61-59 to Bancroft-Rosalie in the East Husker Conference Tournament Semifinals from West Point-Beemer Friday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull before falling 69-39 to Howells-Dodge in Saturday’s 3rd Place Game at Midland also aired on the Bull. The Patriots then fell 49-25 at Pierce Tuesday night in action also aired on the Bull.

The Panthers jumped out to a 17-5 lead on the Patriots at the end of one. Clarkson/Leigh outscored Bancroft-Rosalie 21-12 in the 2nd quarter to make it a 29-26 game at halftime.

The Bluejays won the 4th quarter 7-3.

Whitmore posted 10 rebounds.

Rough stretch of games for the Patriots.

Clarkson/Leigh (12-8) takes on Stanton (8-12) on the road Thursday night.

The Mustangs won 55-37 at home over Winside Tuesday night.

This figures to be an interesting and competitive game.

These two are rivals of sorts and I look for the game to be super close and competitive.

I think Clarkson/Leigh can bounce back and get back on track with a win, but it won’t be easy.

The Mustangs are a better team than their record would indicate and will be very tough without a doubt.

It’ll be a good one that’s for sure.

I look for the game to be decided by single digits, perhaps even by 5 points or less.

This is a big game from a Football perspective too as the Patriots went into Stanton and whooped up on the Mustangs in the Semifinals this past fall on their way to the D-1 State Title.
