The Clarkson/Leigh Boys Basketball Team defeated Pender 53-15 at home on Saturday.

The Patriots jumped out to a 16-2 lead after one, and outscored the Pendragons 19-4 in the 2nd quarter to take a 35-6 lead into the locker room.

Clarkson/Leigh outscored Pender 15-3 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 50-9 at the end of three.

The Pendragons doubled up the Patriots 6-3 in the 4th quarter.

Eli Hays had 11 points while Jarred Novotny totaled 8. Carter Hanel added 14 rebounds.

Really good win for Clarkson/Leigh.

The Patriots (11-1) take on Lutheran High Northeast (11-1) on the road Tuesday night.

The Eagles won 56-51 in overtime at home over Battle Creek Thursday night.

LHNE is super solid, but I feel like Clarkson/Leigh has a more impressive resume thus far.

I think the Patriots have a bigger win than the Eagles do beating Howells-Dodge, and feel their schedule as a whole has been tougher.

With that said, it is never easy to win on the road, and the game being in Norfolk adds a dimension that makes things really interesting.

I think we’ll find out a lot about both teams in this game, and see just how good each team really is.
